Get Set!!

Okay...I have one more day to get ready for my trip to Prague. I still haven't finished packing yet and hoping that everything I want to take will fit into one suitcase duffle. I start to think of these things to do but it's really kind of too late to do them--like getting certain immunizations. It's not like I'm going to Africa where there's malaria! But I don't want to get sick, so today as I was shopping for healthy snacks (yes, I'm trying to stay with my weight watcher's philosophy) and decided to buy lots of over the counter medicines. First there's immodium for, well you know what it's for. (please don't let me have to use this!!) and there's advil PM (in case I can't sleep and have a headache). And of course there's band-aids, hand sanitizer...all of this and only one suitcase!!

I went to a luncheon for some friends today. We started talking about traveling abroad--and they got me to start worrying about pick-pocketers and being ripped off. So now I'm wondering if my backpack will be snuck into and all of my valuables stolen. I've decided to carry my wallet and phone in a little fanny pack stuck up under my chair. I just hope I'm not a "sitting duck!" I also gave these friends my blog address and told them to follow my adventures but most of them didn't know how to find the blog or what a blog is. I told them that I would post on Facebook too--but they didn't belong to that either. So, I guess some will just have to wait until I'm back to hear of my adventures!

I'll be glad when the time is actually here to go. That way I won't spend all this time worrying about what I don't have and what might happen to me when I get there.

Getting Ready!!

I planned this trip months ago. So many things came up that tried to get in the way of my going. I thought... was God trying to tell me that I shouldn't go? Or, was He just putting up a few obstacles for me to maneuver around--to show my real desire to go. Months later and here I am excited to go--and I am going. I hope British Airways does NOT strike....or more of the Trams in Prague do Not decide to shut down for construction. I've been told that I may not go on some of the class "field trips" because the busses won't accommodate wheelchairs. I feel a "cause" coming on--like I want to do something about it for the disabled of the Czech Republic. But...it's not my country. I'm just there to enjoy it and learn from it.

I've already read some of my classmates work--wow! It's a bit intimidating with such good writers in my group. They have such interesting stories to tell. I think I do too.

At the end of this, I'm sure I will renew my thankfulness of living in a beautiful place where restaurants and stores are accessible and have big giant stalls in their restrooms.

Well...there you have it, My First Blog!! I hope to blog frequently--and will hopefully post pictures on Facebook.
